From PVRA's Board of Directors to Show Managers

Being a show manager is a very time consuming task, and the PVRA board would like to express our appreciation for your commitment and dedication, which helps the PVRA membership at large in two ways.  It encourages participation in horse sports, providing a performance outlet for some of our riders, and it contributes to the club's bottom line, which is critical in these years of escalating repairs and ground refurbishment.

  1. At the same time, we need to offer a couple small reminders that we hope won't add to your burden: Please contact the board if you have a change in show date (either a cancellation or an addition) as soon as possible.  The PVRA maintains insurance for the dates on our show calendar.  Every addition needs to go on that coverage, and every cancellation can save us money in insurance costs.
  2. Please work with the Board Member of the Month (names are published in the Horse Tales and on the web page) if you have any exceptional problems or areas of concern that might need board action.  Communicate with us.  The board appreciations hearing 'your side' before the rumor mill goes crazy.  One little phone call can really help.
  3. Please read the show rules in the PVRA roster.  Any changes to highpoint rules or show rules should be proposed early in the year, so they can be incorporated in the next roster (where competitors go for information).  Screening proposed changes at the January board meeting can streamline the process.  Some choices are left up to your discretion (as they should be!), but some are governed by PVRA operating rules (for consistency).  Adhering to the published rules means less confusion at the end of the year for everyone.
  4. If you have questions, please call a board member We know what you do is very, very important, and we want to help ease the process if we can.
  5. Thank you for your commitment and hard work!
